Day 10 of God’s Love

Day 10 of God’s Love for Us

July 31, 2017

When Jesus taught His apostles about Salt and Light, He said, “You are the light of the world.” Then He said, “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”(Matt 5:14,16)

We are like the apostles. We are to be a light of Jesus to the world. How we treat others, and treat ourselves, determines how brightly we let His light shine through us.

Praying to Flourish

Praying to Flourish – June 23, 2017 –  God is not only the navigator of our life, but He has been called the master sculptor as well. There is a parable that says He is the potter, we are the clay. I love that thought. He is also the gardener of our lives. Just like the Japanese Banzai gardeners who sculpt and prune and fertilize their trees, God molds us, shapes us, and encourages us to be something great in His eyes. God prunes the negativity from our lives if we let Him. But we have to let Him do Read More

Sunsine, Rain, and Snow

Sunshine, Rain, and Snow – May 18, 2017 –  As I’m reading and watching the changing weather outside turn from rain to snow and back again, I’m in awe of God and power. He makes the sun shine, the rain, the lightning, the snow, and the darkness all for His good reason and for our good reason. We as parents remember the past, even yesterday, and are charged by God to teach and prepare our kids. If we don’t learn about God through reading and spending time with Him, how can we know when He’s standing next to us or Read More

Gifts and Callings

Gifts and Callings – May 12, 2017 –  Yesterday I asked if we need God’s light shining on us all the time. We have the presence of God all around us all the time when we consider that He has made everything under the sun and above the sun. But do we need God watching and hovering over us like a helicopter parent? Or do we need the knowledge that He is there if and when we need Him? The disciples didn’t understand why Jesus had to die. If He hadn’t, then they (and we) would never walk in the Read More

Arise. Take Responsibility. Be of Good Courage!

Arise.  Take Responsibility.  Be of Good Courage! – May 11, 2017 –  Do we need God’s light shining in us all the time, or do we need His light occasionally to reassure us we are on the right path? Faith becomes the real question. “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, (and) the conviction of things not seen (Heb. 11:1).” As I read last night in Ezra, God was speaking to me very clearly. He started by saying “Arise! For this matter is your responsibility, be courageous and act (Ezra 10:4).” As I followed the trail of scriptures it Read More

Forgiveness

Forgiveness – May 9, 2017 –  Forgiveness, there are many reasons why we should walk in it.  It could easily be a whole sermon subject. Think about it like this for a moment. Do you like to wear your sunglasses inside your house? How about after you turn off the lights? No, probably not. Holding a grudge or keeping unforgiveness is just like wearing your sunglasses all the time and wearing blinders together. You strain your eyes to see anything. God is the light! Forgiveness doesn’t make the pain go away, but it helps remove what clouds and darkens your Read More

Relationship

Relationship April 17, 2017 Yesterday was Resurrection Sunday, a day for us to remember that Jesus walked out of the tomb to give us a relationship with Him. Our relationship with Him determines how we live today, tomorrow, and everyday. He promises to supply our needs, give us grace with forgetfulness, a way through temptation, victory, and eternal relationship among many other promises. Be a light to someone else today and show them an attribute of Jesus through you.     (Photo of Our Daily Bread daily devotional)
