Gifts and Callings

Gifts and Callings

– May 12, 2017 –

Yesterday I asked if we need God’s light shining on us all the time.

We have the presence of God all around us all the time when we consider that He has made everything under the sun and above the sun. But do we need God watching and hovering over us like a helicopter parent? Or do we need the knowledge that He is there if and when we need Him?

The disciples didn’t understand why Jesus had to die. If He hadn’t, then they (and we) would never walk in the power and giftings that God gave them (or us). Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to them and to us to be a guide. To show us how to use our gifts to glorify Jesus.

I am convicted by the Holy Spirit today that being poor and thinking small enough to just pay my bills is not bringing glory to Jesus with the gifts that He has given me. I pray that we all lift our thoughts and our sights and stop accepting less than God has intended for us.

Everyone has a gift and a calling that is unique, and using that gift to help someone else brings glory to Jesus.
