Day 22 of God’s Love for Us

“Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him.”(1John 5:1) When we accept Jesus Christ into our lives, then He becomes our Messiah. Christ actually means pardon or forgiveness. Jesus was the Messiah, the chosen one to do God’s work of bringing the people together under Him in love and harmony. When we accept Jesus as our forgiver, our savior, then we become joint heirs with Him. We become one of God’s children, just as Him. At that time then, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.”(1John 5:4)

“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”(Hebrews 11:1) Jesus overcame death so that we can have faith, overcome our fears and treat each other, and ourselves, a bit nicer and with more forgiveness. If you’re struggling, don’t beat yourself up, give an ounce of forgiveness to yourself and try again. God promised Jeremiah that “Their sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more.”(Jeremiah 31:34) God promised to have a short term memory, so should we when it comes to imperfection and offenses.
