Day 23 of God’s Love for Us

Who has the power to give life? Only God does. Who has the power to give eternal life? God does. Who has the power to give eternal salvation? God gave that power to His son Jesus. Jesus gave the opportunity of eternal salvation and eternal relationship to all who are willing, not just the Jews in Israel.

Moses tried to give up his own eternity with God, to redeem his family and countrymen when he went to speak with God on Mt Sinai. There he interceded for them with God in Exodus 32:32. Paul even tried to give away his eternity with God to redeem his kinsmen in Romans 9:3. But it is only Jesus Christ who could redeem others for eternity, by giving His life here on earth. Redeem means to pay a price. Jesus gave His life, that was His price, so that we could have eternal life with God. Jesus is our “mediator between God and men.”(1 Tim 2:5)
