Why go to Church?

How do we attend church? Why do we attend church?

Do we attend church in our perfect image, or God’s perfect image?

When I started going to church after my divorce, It was to find a better path and direction for my life. I had just lost almost everything in the world that was near and dear. I know and see people who show up in their Sunday best, or their everyday clothes just to be seen. To be seen as having it all comfortably or perfectly together. People inherently want to be a part of something bigger than themselves.

I went to church seeking a better way of life and to find someone I could call my friend and turn to. I found Jesus. He won’t leave me or forget me. I found an end to the loneliness.

Are you seeking a change? Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart, will you let Him in or not? Jesus wants our brokenness and our burdens. The real question is, deep down are you more concerned with keeping your burdens and limitations and appearances, or are you willing to open that door and show Him?
