Ownership is Everything

Ownership is Everything

– July 12, 2017 –

“Ownership is everything” was a phrase I heard in the car business. It implied owning the right kind of car or truck that would encourage someone to purchase it for a good price, or, for a higher greater price. I tried very hard to cater to that market by making my cars and trucks uniquely shine better than my competition. I put my heart into every vehicle I sold, knowing that when I did, someone would notice and buy it. When I didn’t do my best, that is where my struggles began.

Looking back, even yesterday, I see that everywhere in my life that I have struggled has compounded from the initial decision to not do my best. Having small bank accounts, needing to borrow money, divorce, and separation from my kids have all brought me to the realization that I haven’t put my best effort into life. But it has shown me that being dependent on other people for happiness is false. Being dependent on God has brought me more happiness in my suffering than when I thought I owned everything.

Jesus conquered the world and still remained blameless and sinless. Jesus said, “In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”(John 16:33)  The stories that I read this morning for inspiration both talk about coming closer to God.

Jesus is our “open door, our way, our light, our truth.” We can sit at God’s footstool by asking for Jesus to guide us. In knowing Jesus, and asking Him to use us for His will, we can “own everything” that is worth owning.

When you have “Faith, hope, and love” (1 Cor 13:13) you truly know that “ownership is everything.” Peace and blessings to you today.
