Day 41 of God’s Love for Us
February 10, 2018
We should have no fear because God thinks we are worthy. How is this so you ask? Did you know that God knows the very number of hairs on your head? Jesus said this in Matthew 10:30. Yet Luke and Paul both said “Not one hair of your head shall perish” (Luke 21:18; Acts 27:34). “So don’t fear, you are more valuable than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:31 NASB).
Although sparrows are not worth much, God knows them all, just like He knows you and me. He wants us to know Him better. Our lives are worth living without fear and worry.
Worrying about tomorrow is like trying to put out a camp fire with fiery torch in one hand, and spoon in the other. You can’t set the torch down to pick up a bucket of water, and you can’t get close enough to be effective with a spoon. “So dont worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34NASB).
“Careful planning is thinking ahead about goals, steps, schedules, and trusting in God’s guidance;” these are better uses of our time and energy. (NASB notes from Matthew 6:34). When we trust Him and seek His wisdom, we can more effectively deal with the anxiety of tomorrow.
