Day 29 of God’s Love for Us

“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world”(John 16:33 NASB). Jesus told this to His disciples before He was betrayed to give them hope through the tribulation that was coming. After that, Jesus prayed, “But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves”(John 17:13).

Jesus had told them previously that He was “the way, and the truth, and the life”(John 14:6). Back then they had to remember and memorize what was said, the only written word was the old testament. But we have the benefit of all the old testament, the gospels of when Jesus was alive, and the apostles’ writings. In other words, we know, we can read, and we can continually increase our faith and knowledge. All we have to do is have faith, faith is our strength! Faith and knowing that Jesus has overcome, will get us through our tribulations. We are not alone in our struggles and tribulations when we call on Jesus, he has given us strength and courage.
