This quote came as a daily quote earlier this week. It made me really think about fears of the past. When we continually think of the past, we have the reaction of worry today.
Then I came across this blog article from Grace to You (gty.org) entitled, A Worried Christian, where the blogger made this statement, “When you worry, you are choosing to be mastered by your circumstances instead of by the truth of God.”
“We cannot love when we feel fear,” nor can we love when we “are mastered by our circumstances.” Both are reactive thoughts. God wants us to have active thoughts, not reactive thoughts. Active thoughts that are moral and kind glorify Him. Peter wrote, “…cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you”(1 Peter 5:7). “Giving your fears, anxieties, and worries to God calls for action, not passive reaction” (Life Application Study Bible notes 1 Peter 5:7).
Let it go and move forward into the New Year! Be blessed my friends 🙂
