Repaying Good for Bad
March 15, 2017
As I awoke from a dream this morning, I was angry at the person in my dream who treated me with bad customer service. I set out to let his boss know of the problems, and when I had the chance another day to treat him badly in my convenience store I did!
What does that do for us, to repay bad for bad? Do we really get satisfaction? We might think so, but we continue to carry that anger, ready to unleash it on someone else. Should we just roll over and let others walk on us? No!
But being Jesus to someone is to understand their position, and problem, and to give them grace and love them by telling them how we feel by what they have done. We might be the only Jesus that they ever know. Not only do we need to give others grace, but we need to give ourselves grace and applause for not repaying bad for bad. There is a better, longer life waiting for us if we live this one more like Jesus.
