Day 5 of God’s Love for Us

– July 24, 2017-

“My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved(gently corrected) by Him; For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, and He scourges(judges) every son (and daughter)whom He receives.”(Hebrews 12:5-6)

Expanding and explaining this is easy, “Who loves his child more— the father who allows the child to do what will harm them, or the father who corrects, trains, and even punishes the child to help them learn what is right? It is never pleasant to be corrected and disciplined by God, but His discipline is a sign of His deep love for us. When God corrects you, see it as proof of His love and ask Him what He is trying to teach you.”(footnotes of Hebrews 12:5-6 Life Application Study Bible,NASB)
